    Mango Leaf

Mango leaf or Mangifera indica is an evergreen broad canopy tree, which grows to a height of 33-82 ft.(10-25 meters). Its leaves are 6-18 in. (15-45cm) long. M. indica is a common mango tree cultivated extensively in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Infusions and decoctations of mango leaves have been used for centuries as traditional medicine to treat different ailments. The bioactive constituents of M. indica are mainly polyphenols, terpenes, sterols, carotenoids, vitamins and amino acids.

Mango leaf extract (Zynamite®), standardized to >60% mangiferin a polyphenol, manufactured by Nektium Pharma (Spain) is protected by two pending patents for enhancing brain activity and improving sports performance.

  • Scientific evidence
HOW DOES PEAK POWER (ZYNAMITE®) IMPROVE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ENERGY?

A recent research study comparing effects of caffeine and mango leaf extract (Zynamite®) demonstrated that the pattern of electrical activation for both are remarkably similar in the brain frontal cortex and in the hippocampus, and therefore may have a potential to improve cognitive function.1

One clinical study further indicates that a single intake of mango leaf extract (Zynamite®) by healthy adults enhances cognitive function throughout the 30 minutes to 5 hour post-dose compared to placebo. The results showed participants significantly improved in attention and long-term memory computerized tasks and in the extended performance of cognitive demanding tasks. However, no related effects on mood and psychological state measures were observed.2

The mango is a fruit consumed since antiquity, whether in traditional dishes or in fruit juice. This fruit full of flavors is very well incorporated in salads, with cereals and can make excellent sorbets. Also suitable with poultry or duck meat, the mango is an extraordinary fruit that people have adopted in cuisine around the world. The dried mango leaves are also used in infusions and have many health benefits.

Therapeutic use

The leaves of the mango tree are rich in vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants and have many minerals. Dried and taken as an infusion, mango leaves have been known for centuries to restore energy and vigor. They are often used to fight against fevers. The extracts of mango leaves are now also recommended in the form of food supplements to give energy to the body and reduce symptoms of fatigue.

The mango tree is one of the first fruit trees cultivated in ancient times with the date palm. The mango tree is native to the tropical forests of India, Pakistan and Burma where it still grows wild today. The first text found refers to a courtesan who would have given a mango tree to Buddha. The mango tree was logically exported with Buddhism and reached Malaysia and the Far East around the 5th century. It was then imported by the Arabs in Africa, and later in Brazil, thanks to the Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Cultivated in almost all the new world, it will make its appearance in California around 1880.

The mango tree is a tree that can reach a significant size 33-82 ft. (8-40 meters). Its yellow, green or red fruits are very variable in weight 10 oz to 4 lbs (0.3-1.8kg). Its pointed leaves are about 12 in. long and are pink-orange when they grow, then turn red to become dark green at maturity.

Perceived energy boost for my biking ride

I bike often. For the longer rides (2 to 3 hours biking) I usually have a “pre-workout” drink. For a change, I decided to test Peak Power. The test I made was more than in once ride, and the results perceived every time I had Peak Power (30 min before the ride) I did not feel as fatigued as when not taking it. If this works for a long ride, I can imagine when we need a boost in our travel or daily routine, especially considering that it is all natural ingredients, it is definitely worth the try!
